This Little Piggy

Good Morning ya'll! How's life? I'm sure you've all been busy, busy, busy as I have! Today I'm heading down the mountain with FOUR teenage boys to go back-to-school shopping! YIKES!!! My daughter has a orthodontist appointment and I need to go to Costco....and Redding is SO HOT!  Listen to me...I'm complaining about shopping and spending time with my kid!  That's terrible!! Really I'm just complaining about the heat...I don't like it when it's over 100 degrees...but I'll survive! School starts on Monday so I have to...hehehe!

I've been wanting to share this really cute card that my upline Sarah at Sarah's Ink Spot sent to me for being in the Top Five in sales on her team! She also sent me a few goodies that are also in the picture!

Isn't it CUTE? It's made with the This Little Piggy stamp set! Pretty sweet of her to send it to me right?!?

Below is a picture of the card alone so you can zoom in on the VERY CUTE details! Why don't I have this set yet?

Well...I'm gonna run...WISH ME LUCK!! Thanks BUNCHES for stopping by and have a TERRIFIC weekend! I hope you find time to CREATE!

Bike Ride!

Good Morning friends! Here we are...another beautiful day! I'm going to be SEWING in my workshop today with my daughter...finishing up those bags we took a class for back in JUNE...but first I wanted to share something FUN that I've been working on!

So my husband is a power lineman by trade but a bicyclist by choice! He used to be a team roper, but gave the horse up when the third kiddo came along. So now he rides a bicycle and is SUPER trim and fit (me not so much...but I'm working on it). I do love to ride with him when he is doing a leisurely ride (which kicks my coo!). I want to write him a LOVE note...just because so I chose to make a card for him with a cycling theme!

Did you realize you can find INSPIRATION in many places? It's AMAZING what inspires me sometimes!

This is the wallpaper on my phone (I think of him often) AND my INSPIRATION!!

I LOVE the colors and the's just BEAUTIFUL!

Here's is the card I created to give to him! I'd LOVE it if you told me what you think in the comments below! To me it's SUPER FUN!

You're probably figuring out that I LOVE our SU Glossy paper! I used the wiping technique to create the background.  I wiped Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Bermuda Bay, Powder Pink, Crushed Curry, Perfect Plum and Wisteria wonder onto a piece of 4" X 5 1/4" Glossy White cardstock.  Next I used the Bike Ride stamp set to heat emboss the bicycle using black embossing powder...I could have also used Memento Black ink! Next I used my Labeler Alphabet stamp set for the saying. I adhered the stamped imaged to a 4 1/8" X 5 3/8" piece of Basic Black cardstock, tied some Basic Black Bakers twine around the layered image and then mounted it to a Whisper White card base. Of course I had to bling it up a bit by adding Clear Faceted Gems to the center of the wheels! He's gonna LOVE that! It's a simple card that I'm gonna use to invite him on a bicycling date...I hope he says YES!!

Well...I'm off to sew! I hope this encourages you to look for inspiration all around you! It's out there...I PROMISE and not just on Pinterest (which is FABULOUS)!

Thanks BUNCHES for stopping by! I love sharing what I do with you! I hope your day is TERRIFIC!!

Big on Birthdays MASCULINE!

Good Morning everyone! I have a QUICK post today because I'm heading down the mountain for a class, lunch and errands...a BUSY day!  I hope you all have a TERRIFIC day...and...FIND TIME TO CREATE!!

My classes want more masculine cards so here's one we'll be making today! The base of this card is Early Espresso with a 4 1/8"  X 5 3/8" layer of Whisper White cardstock. I used another piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 4" X 5 1/4" and stamped it with the Marbled background stamp in early espresso ink. I also stamped the same image in Crushed Curry and punched it out with my 1 1/4" circle punch for under the sentiment.  The sentiment is from the Big on Birthdays stamp set and is stamped in Crushed Curry onto a 2 3/4" X 3" piece of Whisper White cardstock. I mounted it onto a 2 7/8" X 3 1/8" piece of Early Espresso cardstock.  Last, I added a piece of 3/8" Mini Chevron (Crushed Curry) ribbon to the bottom and three Glitter Enamel dots at the top. Simple and MASCULINE....NO FLOWERS!!

Well...I gotta run! THANKS BUNCHES for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with another project to share!

Tuesday's Tip - FRAME IT!

Good morning everyone! I hope today is looking good to you! I'm exhausted! I just got home from the gym and I am wiped! My legs felt like they were 1000 pounds and I had to really push to finish! My bootcamp instructor said I need to eat more carbs...that shouldn't be a problem!!! Eating is NEVER a problem...eating HEALTHY is! One day at a time! My goal isn't to have my twenty year old body's just to be fit...and a little lighter...and exercising really does give me more energy for my day!!

ENOUGH about that! It's Tuesday's Tip time and I have a new video to share with you! ENJOY!!

If you hadn't guessed it by've figured out that I LOVE my Stitched Shape Framelits! I could use them for EVERY SINGLE card I create!

Here's the card that I created with some of the frames that I cut in the video! I need some masculine cards to make in my classes and to send out at church. One of the gals attending my class last night said her husband asked her for a card for a friend (male) and she said "What kind of flowers does he like?  It made me GIGGLE...but also made me think...I really need to create some masculine cards!

The card base of this card is Whisper White and the first layer is a 4 1/8" X 5 3/8" Early Espresso card stock. The designer paper is from the wonderful Coffee Break paper pack and measures 4" X 5 1/4". Next I used a Stitched Shape Circle for the Happy Birthday sentiment which is from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set and is stamped in Early Espresso ink! I adhered it to a Starburst punched Tranquil Tide circle. The celebrate, celebrate, celebrate is from the same stamp set and is stamped onto a punched 1" circle and adhered to the smallest Stitched Shape circle...and then there's that circle frame, also in Tranquil Tide. I used dimensional to adhere both of the sentiments and the circle frame. I finished it with a piece of Tranquil Tide 1/2" finely woven ribbon. It's a great GUY CARD!!!

Hey....thanks BUNCHES for stopping by!  Life is good and I am grateful! I'm also grateful that you follow along...hopefully finding inspiration to CREATE!!! Have a MARVELOUS day!

"Make It Monday" In the City

Hello everyone! Well...the weekend is over and we are already into the THIRD WEEK of AUGUST! I can't believe how fast time is FLYING by! I hope your week goes GREAT and that your weekend was WONDERFUL! My was a bit hectic...running kids around...and NO TIME TO CREATE!

I'm SUPER excited, I just had a friend join my team and she's going to Salt Lake with me in November to Stampin' UP!'s Onstage Live event! I went to a local event last year in Phoenix (stayed with my son) and it was a FUN day of learning about new products, celebrating achievements and lots of make-n-takes. This event is two and a half days of the same! I can't wait! It will be so fun to have a dear friend with me and the rest of our team! I'm THRILLED!! Another really cool thing is there will be lots of great ideas shared that I can share with you...eventually!

For now, however...I have another "Make-It Monday" to share with you!

"Make-It Monday": In the City card created with Stampin' Up! products
All images © 1990-2017 Stampin’ Up!®

Set found on page 222 of the 2017-18 Stampin' Up! catalog.
This host stamp set of 60 images is only available with Stampin’ Rewards.

Stamp Sets: In the City Host Stamp Set (143771)
Inks: Lemon Lime Twist (144086) & Pool Party (126982) Classic Stampin’ Pads; Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Ink (140931)
Paper: Whisper White (100730) & Lemon Lime Twist Card stock
Other: Rhinestone Basic Jewels (144220), SNAIL Adhesive (104332), Big Shot (143263), Stitched Shapes Framelits (145372), Simply Scored Scoring Tool (122234)

•   Whisper White: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored and folded at 4-1/4”
•   Whisper White: 3-1/2” x 3-1/2” (or larger scrap as this will be die-cut)
•   Lemon Lime Twist: 5-3/8” x 4-1/8”

1.     Using Basic Black Archival Ink, stamp the house image into right corner of the square of Whisper White card stock (see photo for placement).  Stamp the tree beside it, with the base of the trunk slightly higher than the base of the house (about 1/8” of an inch).  Stamp the sentiment below.
2.     Using Lemon Lime Twist ink, stamp the center of the tree image, the door on the house, and the “grass” beside the house.
3.     Using Pool Party ink, stamp the solid image on the house outline.
4.     Adhere the Lemon Lime Twist to the Whisper White card base using SNAIL.
5.     Using your Big Shot and the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits, die cut the image.   Take care when doing this to make sure that you don’t cut off the bottom right corner of the square because it won’t line up on your card.  When placing the circle over the image, you can bring the edge very close to the corner, but don’t go over.  Once cut, adhere the stamped image to the card base using SNAIL.
6.     Add 5 Rhinestone jewels to the card.
Hey...thanks BUNCHES for stopping by today!  I'm heading out to my workshop to finish getting ready for a class tonight!  I hope you find time to CREATE!!!

Daisy Inspriation

Good Morning everyone! How's it going? I hope your day is starting off GREAT! I've been to the gym...watered my a load of laundry going and watched my daughter fall off of her horse for the very first time! She wasn't hurt (I'm thanking God) and she got back on! It was really weird because I usually come home from the gym and soak in a hot bath (I really new a hot tub), but this morning after reading The Daily Bread I heard a whisper telling me I needed to be out there with my daughter while she was riding. I needed her to know that I cared and was interested in watching her...AND I had this sense that something might happen! I'm so happy that I listened and that I was out there! I LOVE it when I can see God working in my life...even if it's just getting me out there to watch my girl fall off her horse and encourage her to get back on! Kate just came down stairs to say thanks for getting her back on and that she wouldn't have done it had I not been out there...what a gift! It's AMAZING to me!

Remember that card I shared yesterday that I was going to have my class make last night? Well...I didn't have a class last night (scatterbrain), it's next Monday evening so I decided not to finish prepping but to play instead!

A while back, I was watering my flowers and took this photo as inspiration for a card! Photo's help me REMEMBER what I want to do! I also remember my life through photos! My husband will be talking about a past adventure and I'll be seeing photos that I took during that time and be able to say...oh yeah...that was 1992 and Seth was a baby and we were here....blah, blah, blah.  I LOVE that photos do that for me!!'s the card that I created!  I LOVE it!  My card base is Whisper White and my first layer is a piece 4" X 5 1/4" Tranquil Tide card stock. Next I used my Timeless Texture stamp set to create a Crushed Curry background on a piece of
3 3/4" X 5" Whisper White card stock. Next I cut a piece of Watercolor paper with my large Stitched Shapes Oval framelit and used my Aqua Painter with Bermuda Bay ink for a color wash background.  I stamped the stem using Tranquil Tide ink and the Daisy's Delight stamp set. The oval is attached with dimensionals, but before I attached it I added a few Linen Thread loops. Last, I added my daisy which I made by cutting one daisy with my Daisy Punch, cutting it in half, layering it and rounding the petals back using my bone folder. The Early Espresso center of the daisy is cut with the Swirly Scribbles thinlit and embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder. Last I added a sentiment which is from the Best Birds stamp set and a few Glitter Enamel Dots. I LOVE how it turned out...just how I PICTURED it!

Hey...thanks BUNCHES for stopping by today! You know I LOVE creating and I LOVE sharing my creations with you! Have a FANTASTIC day!

Lovely Words

Hey there and HAPPY WEDNESDAY to you! What's going on in your neck of the woods? Things are calm here right now, but it's gonna be noisy here in a while! The earth movers have been here for a week now...moving dirt...digging up rocks...there are HUNDREDS of rocks...I don't know what I'm gonna do with all these rocks, but the ground is level and we're getting closer to a riding arena for our daughter! She is so excited! My son and husband built him a batting cage this summer, but we had to bring in the big guns for the ground leveling! It should be finished before the rains come...HOPING that's right because our Trinity Red Dirt will be a muddy mess!

I have a class tonight to get ready for, but I have a card I made yesterday using the large stitched circle from yesterday's video! I hope you LOVE it and that it INSPIRES you to create!

This card has a Whisper White card base with a 4 1/8" X 5 3/8" Basic Black first layer. For the next I used a 4" X 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White cards stock that is embossed using the Pinewood Planks embossing folder.

Now for the really FUN stuff! If you watched yesterday's video I used reinkers and Rubbing alcohol for my background circle. I dropped one drop of Bermuda Bay and two drops of Crushed Curry onto my Glossy card stock circle (cut with my Stitched Shapes framelits). Next I sprayed it with rubbing alcohol using my Stampin' Spritzer. What a BEAUTIFUL affect! Next I topped it with the word HUGS which I cut by laying the Lovely Words thinlit inside the large stitched circle framelit and running it through my big shot using Basic Black card stock. I should have taken a photo!! I glued the word to my BEAUTIFUL background with multipurpose glue. I stamped the Sending You sentiment, in Memento Black ink, with the Lovely Inside & Out stamp set. I inked the edges with Bermuda Bay ink and a dauber after hand cutting one end into a banner. That DELIGHTFUL flower and branch of leaves are cut using the Flourish Thinlits. I wrapped Linen Thread and Black Bakers Twine underneath the Hugs circle and attached it to the card using dimensionals!

I just LOVE how this card turned...I think we'll make it at tonight's class!

Thanks SO VERY MUCH for stopping by today! I hope you have a FANTASTIC rest of your day...and that you find a minute or two to create!

Tuesday's Tip - Fun with Glossy Paper

Good Morning everyone! I hope you had a TERRIFIC day yesterday! Mine was quite busy! I had to create a card for our team Facebook Hop last night! You can check it out and follow along by clicking on the Facebook icon to the right of this post. It was a great hop with some great ideas!

I also had lunch with a friend, went to work for a few hours AND it was my mother-in-laws birthday! Thank goodness I had a card made already and my husband picked up a gift for her.  She wanted tacos for her birthday dinner, so we had shrimp tacos and all the fixin's and I tried a new DUMP CAKE recipe for her dessert....two cans of lemon pie filling on the bottom, a lemon cake mix spread over the top (just the dry mix) and two sticks of melted butter poured over the cake mix! Oh, and we topped it with Cool Whip! It was DELICIOUS!!! I was really happy my son, Seth stayed for's ALWAYS wonderful when my kids come home for a visit and nice to get a text that the made it home safely!'s time for my Tuesday's Tip Video! ENJOY...and GIVE IT A TRY!!!

I really hope you are enjoying my videos...I sure am enjoying making them! At first I thought I needed to have a script, but I think just being myself...saying things wrong...hearing the rattling as I find the wipes...etc...makes it REAL! I'm also hoping you don't mind all my imperfections!

Hey...thanks BUNCHES for stopping by!  Have a FABULOUS day!

"Make-It Monday" Lemon Zest

Good Morning everyone! How ways your weekend? Did you find any time to create?  I did a little bit and it was FUN! My son came up with my grand-dogs, Clyde and Chester...they're the cutest English Bulldogs....I JUST LOVE THEM! I have a class Wednesday night that I have to get ready for today, but I want to share this weeks "Make-It Monday" (and I'm gonna make Aebleskiver's for my kiddos...they are yummy filled pancake balls).

"Make-It Monday": Lemon Zest card created with NEW Stampin' Up! products
All images © 1990-2017 Stampin’ Up!®
Stamp set found on page 90 of the new 2017-18 Stampin' Up! catalog.

  • Stamps: Lemon Zest Clear-Mount Stamp Set [143808]
  •  Ink :  Lemon Lime Twist Classic Stampin' Pad [144086] , Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad [132708]
  • Card Stock :  Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock [144245] , Whisper White 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock [100730] , Basic Black 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock [121045], Vellum 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock [101856]
  • Tools & Adhesive :  Sponge Daubers [133773] , Tear & Tape Adhesive [138995] , Stampin' Trimmer [126889] , Clear Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush [141897], Stampin' Dimensionals [104430]
  •  Punch :  Lemon Builder Punch [143712] , 1-3/4" Circle Punch [119850]

 Cutting Measurements:
  • Lemon Lime Twist: 5 ½" x 8 ½” card base; ¼" x 3 ½ “ for straw
  • Basic Black CS: 4" x 5 ¼ ”
  • Whisper White CS: 3 7/8"  x 5 1/8 ” and piece for punching
  • Vellum: 3" x 3 ½ “

1. Create card front from Lemon Lime Twist CS by scoring at 4 ¼”.

2. Stamp “Happy Birthday” in memento black ink on the bottom of the Whisper White piece. Stamp lemon slice 3 times in Lemon Lime Twist on the left side (make sure you only do halves, otherwise it will be visible through the glass). Adhere White piece to Basic Black CS and then to card base. Set aside.

3. To create a glass: Lightly mark vellum at ¾ from both sides of 3” side (red marks on diagram below). Using Stampin' Trimmer – cut from one corner to a marked point on one side, repeat on other side. Use scoring blade, create a score line ¼” from side of the ‘glass’ by aligning a side with ¼ mark on the Stampin' Trimmer. You should get following shape:
Green indicates score lines. Apply Tear & Tape between the scored line and edge. Fold on a scored line. Sponge the ‘glass’ with sponge dauber and Lemon Lime Twist ink on inside, leave some white space on top.

4. Remove Tear & Tape and adhere glass to the card front from step 2. Try to make the shape a little rounded.

5. Stamp 2 more slices on scrap piece of Whisper White in Lemon Lime Twist ink. Punch them with 1 ¾” punch. Cut a slit from a side to the center on first piece of lime. Add Dimensionals to the back and decorate the glass with it. Cut 3 pieces from second lime. Add Dimensionals and add to the bottom of the glass on the right side.

6. Adhere ‘straw’ inside the glass.

Now...isn't that a SUPER CUTE and FUN card?!?!  I LOVE it! I also LOVE that you took the time to stop by my blog this morning! THANKS BUNCHES for allowing me to share what I love to do!!! Have a WONDERFUL day and a TERRIFIC week!

Big On Birthdays and Color Theory Designer Paper

Hey there everyone! What's on your list of things to do today? I hope it's something FUN!! We have lots of work ahead of us...the guy is coming to level the ground for my daughter's round pen! It's EXCITING....but YIKES is it gonna be hot! Dirt...heat...sweat...not my idea of fun, but we'll be gettin' things done!!

Today I have a SIMPLE card to share with you! My card base is Whisper White and measures 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". My first layer is Basic Black and measures 4 1/8" X 5 3/8" and is topped with a piece of Crushed Curry Color Theory designer paper measuring 4" X 5 1/4".  The sentiment is from the Big on Birthdays stamp set. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink onto a 2 3/4" X 3" piece of Whisper White card stock which is matted onto a piece of 2 7/8" X 3 1/8" Basic Black card stock. That black matting really makes the card pop! I added a few Rhinestones and some Basic Black Solid Bakers Twine to finish the card. It's's's even masculine so you could send it to a son, a brother or just a friend! I used it for a man's birthday at church.

I needed a feminine card as well, so I added a Berry Burst banner cut with the Bunch of Banners framelits. I cut the banner in half using just the ends underneath the sentiment!  I also added a flower cut with the Support Ribbon framelits! I ADORE this's so FUN!! The flower and the sentiment are attached with dimensionals. The measurements are all the same as above, but I tipped the card on its side.  I also used Clear Faceted gems instead of Rhinestone Basic for the center of the flower and a couple in the top left corner to balance the card out!

This is a great card to make. You can make a bunch at the same time just by using different colors of designer paper.  You can also easily make it a masculine or feminine card! I hope you'll give it a try!  The Color Theory designer paper is especially great for this project because there are four different colors...Berry Burst, Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Dapper Denim. FUN...QUICK...and HOMEMADE!!

Hey...THANKS SO MUCH for stopping by today, allowing me to share what I love to do...with you!!  Have a TERRIFIC WEEKEND!!! Find time to CREATE!!!

Time for COFFEE!

Hello everyone! I'm hoping all is well with you this beautiful but HOT day!!! I'm gearing up for 109 today! I'm not a big fan of over 100 degrees. I don't have air in my workshop (yet) so it gets a bit warm.

Everything went great in Modesto yesterday! I signed the papers for the sale of my folks home. We were able to get my moms hutch, table and chairs to the American Cancer Discovery Shop (such a cute shop). A friend of mines college aged son brought a friend and helped us load it! I was so grateful because it was so heavy. It was hard to give it away, but it went to a great little shop where the ladies were just giddy at how beautiful and well cared for it was! I remember my mom saving and saving for it! I found the Breuner's Furniture ad where she had it circled (I saved this) and the receipts for the purchase! She enjoyed it for over 30 years. I felt bad for not bringing it home...I'm very sentimental and love old stuff, but I just had no room in my house...the hutch was HUGE, plus I had a plank table built for me when I remodeled my kitchen! I think my mom would have been happy that we donated it to the American Cancer Society so I'm ok! Adam and I shared a funny memory about it this morning! He asked me if I took a picture of it and I said no, that I had forgotten (I was dripping in sweat and wasn't thinking of photos...but I did once I was cooled off)!  I asked him why and he said "because I've never seen the top of it!"  My mom had a thick cover for it and then always had a tablecloth over the cover when we ate. She also covered the cushions with a towel when my kids were little and sat on them to eat...protecting them from the inevitable spill! We giggled! It's funny the things we remember!!

I made today's card for a Sketch Challenge on my team facebook page. Sketches are so fun and help me get going when I'm having a creative block!

This card is created with the Coffee Cups Framelits, the Coffee Cafe stamp set and the Coffee Break designer paper! The stamp set and the framelits are sold as a bundle, saving you 10%!

I wanted to point out a couple of details of this card...the straw is stamped on Vellum paper with VersaMark and heat embossed with black embossing powder.  Finally it is cut out with Coffee Cup framelits. Next...the scallops are created with 3/4" circles as I didn't have a scallop die that is current and we are required to use only current product for challenges. I embossed the circle with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder.

Here is a picture of the Sketch we used. This makes the rest of the card pretty self explanatory. One thing I did a bit different is that I matted my designer paper onto a piece of Early Espresso and Whisper White card stock to make them pop! I'm sure you've also noticed by now that I used the coffee cup as the top rectangle piece! It's a FUN sketch. I'm gonna use it again, but this time I will jot down my paper measurements and share them with you! It's my plan to be better about that...and won't it make your creating easier!!!

Well...on with the day!  THANKS BUNCHES for stopping by! Have a FANTASTIC DAY!!!

Tree Rings & Daisies

Good Morning everyone! I got home yesterday just for a moment and am heading to Modesto to sign the papers on the sale of my mom and dads house! I'm so happy, but surprisingly a little saddened to be finishing things up with the estate. My vacation was INCREDIBLE! We rented a BEAUTIFUL home right on Lake Almanor...helped my son move to Chester, celebrated our 28th anniversary and his 24th birthday! We rode our bikes and went kayaking every was AMAZING! I can't wait until my husband retires!!!

Today's card was the fourth and final project for my July classes. Our new Daisy Punch is pretty terrific!

My card base is Whisper White and the first layer is Basic Black with the top layer of Whisper White card stock stamped with the Tree Rings background stamp. I inked up the stamp with Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie ink, laid the card stock on top of the stamp and rolled my brayer over it to stamp it neatly. When I can't find my brayer I just rub my fingers over the card stock, but my fingers get a bit messy! After stamping, I used my daubers to add just a bit of color to the background...a little Crushed Curry and a little Pumpkin Pie! I used my 2" Circle Punch for my Pumpkin Pie circle, ran it through the Pinewood Planks embossing folder and adhered it to the Tree Rings image. Next I punched two Daisies using that VERY POPULAR and NOW AVAILABLE Daisy punch, in Thick Whisper White card stock. I used my Bone Folder to curl the petals under and attached my daisy just over the embossed circle with a dimensional. The Crushed Curry center is punched with the 3/4" circle punch and embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder. In class we used the Lemon Builder punch for the leaves, but for this card I used the Eclectic Layers Thinlits.

For the inside of the card I stamped the Tree Rings in the top right corner, again in Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie and used my daubers to add more of those same colors. I matted that stamped piece of Whisper White card stock to a piece of Crushed Curry card stock and then to the inside of my card base. Super simple, but a bit of charm!

I LOVE this background stamp and there are some other FANTASTIC background stamps I plan on demoing soon! I hope you'll follow along for lots more inspiration!

Thanks BUNCHES for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with MORE INSPIRATION!!

Tuesday's Tip - Making your ribbon STAY PUT!

Good morning everyone! I can't believe it's AUGUST already! We're heading home today...boohoo...I LOVE this place so much!  The cool thing is that my son lives here now so I have an excuse to come visit! I have two grand dogs here...oh and a son...hehehe!!

It's Tuesday's Tip time and I've got a good one to share with you! I'm very NEUROTIC about my ribbon and like it to stay where I put it so here's a video showing you how to make your ribbon STAY PUT!! Below the video is the finished card...don't miss it!

I hope you enjoyed my video and would love your feedback! Here is the finished card...just in case you were wondering!

After attaching my Crushed Curry Mini Chevron ribbon I added a sentiment from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set!  It is stamped on a stitched circle cut with the Stitched Shapes framelits in Whisper White! I used two of these circle framelits (one inside of the other) to cut the ring out in Crushed Curry...I LOVE this look!  The three flowers, two in Peek-a-boo Peach and one in Crushed Curry, are cut with the Swirly Scribbles thinlits. Each flower has a Clear Faceted Gem in the middle! Isn't it a GREAT card!!! I used it for an anniversary card!

Well...that's it for today! I hope you have TERRIFIC TUESDAY! Thank you with my whole heart for stopping by today! I hope today's tips is VERY USEFUL!

Good morning crafty friends! It's Friday...are you ready for your weekend? I am so excited! Saturday is our 28th anniversary and our son is moving to Chester, California...just under three hours from me, so we are going to Lake Almanor for a long weekend to celebrate and help him get settled! We're staying in a beautiful home on the lake that a friend rents out when she's not there. As much as I hate getting in a swimming suit...we're gonna spend a lot of time on the lake and on our bicycles!! It's an AMAZING lake. My husband and I did a bicycle ride around it a few years back and saw it for the first time!  It's like a smaller Lake Tahoe...without all the crowds! We're leaving this morning, YIPPEE!!!!

I have a great card to share with you this morning! It's one of my favorites lately!  It's made with the Daisy punch which is now available for order! If you come to my classes and told me you wanted one...they are on their way!!!

I belong to a Demonstrator Planning facebook page, where we share ideas and projects...I was INSPIRED!!

For my card I embossed the Whisper Whited card base using the Pinewood Plank embossing folder. Next I embossed a square piece of Whisper White card stock with Layered Leaves embossing folder and added it to a Crushed Curry mat.  I used my Stitched Shapes framelits to cut a square using watercolor paper. I used my Aqua Painter to brush a Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry background (I've been using these colors a bunch lately).  The sentiment is from the Beautiful You stamp set and is stamped in Crushed Curry ink. I punched one daisy in Thick Whisper White card stock, cut it in half, curled the petals with my bone folder, layered one half on top of the other and attached it to the water color square with a dimensional. The center is a 3/4" circle that I cut twice, making it an oval, then embossed it using the Softly Falling embossing folder! I added a couple Glimmer Enamel Dots to balance the card a bit.  I JUST LOVE THIS CARD!!! It would make a beautiful birthday card, thinking of you card, thank you can be used for any occasion!

Here is the card that INSPIRED me!  I pretty much just copied it...I LOVED IT THAT MUCH!!! I saved the photo so I could give credit, but I can't make out the demonstrator's name...I'm so sorry.  She is on the Artisan team and not from the United States (you can tell by her watermark and her sentiment). I'm gonna have to retrace where I found this card so I can give her proper credit!

I hope that you love this card as much as I do! Even more I hope that you are inspired to go out and create just as I was!

THANKS SO MUCH for stopping by today!  ENJOY your weekend!  Stay safe!!

Pop of Paradise!

Good morning!  It's a beautiful morning...I'm up early and ready to go! I'm working today and have to be there at 7:30am! I'll be there ALL no time to create...boohoo!!! I love getting out into my workshop even if it's only for an hour...maybe after dinner!

I'd like to share another card that we made at my July classes. It's FUN and and BRIGHT colors can be used for ANY OCCASION!
I LOVE this card! My card base is Whisper White and the first layer is Basic Black. Next I stamped my background on Whisper White card stock with the Pop of Paradise stamp set.  The long fronds are stamped with Lemon Lime Twist ink and the shorter fronds are stamped with Emerald Envy Ink. I used my Touches of Texture stamp set for the speckled effect because it just seemed to white where in the empty spaces! I used my Large Layering Ovals framelits to cut the scalloped oval in Basic Black.  I cut the largest stitched oval (from the Stitched Shapes framelits) in Whisper White and used my Pop of Paradise stamp set to stamp my flamingo! I used my Basic Black and Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Write markers to color the flamingo! I sponged the sky with Pool Party ink. The water is stamped with the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set in Bermuda Bay. I used a dobber to add a lighter version of Bermuda Bay!  Last I added some Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine!

Here's the inside of the card! It is stamped just like the background on the front of the card, but only in one corner!  That would be SUPER CUTE stamped on an envelope too!  I need to start including envelopes...then my gals will have all that they need to send their cards...well...minus the stamp!

This is such a CHEERY card! I think I'll use it for a church birthday card! One down and just a few to go! Funny...July had TWENTY birthdays and August has FOUR! I'm hoping I can get ahead of things!

Well...that's it for today! THANKS SO MUCH for stopping by to see what's been happening in my world! Have a TERRIFIC DAY!!

Carols of July

Good Morning Everyone!'s Wednesday already and this month is almost over! Time is just flying by...way to fast! Is it flying by for you?  I don't want to miss any of it...especially with my kiddos and my husband! I have five adult children and two still at home.  Adam will be a sophomore this...high school goes by so quickly and Kate will be a 7th grader! I'm tired of the hot weather, but I so don't want the summer to end! Even though they bicker at times...about DUMB STUFF...I LOVE having them around (although I did kick them out of the house for a while the other day because they wouldn't stop picking at each other!)

Here I am, not wanting time to go by so fast...but I'm speeding ahead and share a Christmas project I created yesterday! Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE going out to my workshop and creating? Have I bothered to tell you how much I LOVE sharing what I create with you?  It's TRUE...I DO!!!

I'm SUPER excited to share today's project...I think it's BEAUTIFUL!!!

This project was inspired by a gal that attends one of my classes. Thanks Chris for sharing your camping tag with us at class!!!

This would make a BEAUTIFUL tag for a gift or an ornament for your Christmas tree. It would also be beautiful on front for a card.

Stampin' Up! has a new Carols of Christmas bundle available to customers August 1st. Demonstrators were able to pre-order it.  I wasn't sure it was one I would use, but the TREES did it for me...and then I had this vision for a project and I am so glad that I got it! Let me show you how I created it!

First I used my Stitched Shapes framelits to cut my frame. I used the largest circle with the next size down inside of it as pictured.

You end up with the photo below!

I cut twelve!  The cool thing is you're left with twelve centers for another project.  I used multipurpose glue to adhere eleven of the frames, one on top of the other for thickness.  I cut a solid back from Whisper White card stock using, again, the largest stitched circle framelit. I also cut the same size circles from vellum and window sheet card stock. I embossed my vellum with the Softly Falling embossing folder and attached it to the back using multipurpose glue...only around the edges!

Here is the back of the project. After attaching the vellum to the back, I added trees cut with the Card Front thinlits (from the Carols of Christmas bundle) using Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper. I attached the trees with dimensionals. The deer is cut from Early Espresso card stock and is glued to the tree.

After adhering the vellum to the back and the details to the vellum, I attached my frame, over the details to the vellum with multipurpose glue. You can see the layers here.

Next, I glued the edges only of the window sheet circle to the top layer and then topped the window sheet with another frame.

I finished it off by adding bows cut with my Pretty Pines framelits. They are cut with Whisper White card stock, Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper and Silver Foil paper.  The bow, which is GORGEOUS, is tied with Silver 3/8" Metallic Edged ribbon.

I really LOVE this project. I want to create it again with window sheets on both sides to use as an ornament for my tree.  I'll add the same scene to the other side using one more piece of vellum.  I'll also probably have to add a few more layers to my frame!

This beautiful bundle will be available for customers to order on August 1st. I'm so happy I have mine....I LOVE THOSE TREES!!

I hope you love this as much as I do! I'm starting to think more about Christmas now!

Thanks BUNCHES for stopping by and allowing me to share what I love to do with you!  Happy Wednesday!
