Year of Cheer - World Card Making Day Project 5

Hello! How's your morning going? I hope FANTASTIC! I'm heading down the mountain for my class in Redding! I ALWAYS look forward to seeing these ladies! They are a FUN group! We'll be making a couple of Christmas cards and a couple of fall cards...I sure hope they like them! I'm a little worried...things came together pretty smoothly and when that happens it usually means I forgot something...OH I HOPE NOT!!

I wanted to remind you of the Designer Paper Sale going on through the end of October! Don't miss it! Click here to see which papers are on sale and to stock up!!

Today's card is the last card from my World Card Making Day event! I hope you will be INSPIRED!!

This BEAUTIFUL card has a card base of Whisper White and the first layer is Silver Foil paper and measures 4 1/8" X 5 3/8".  I didn't have enough for the class so we used Smokey Slate cardstock. Next is a 4" X 5 1/4" piece of Year of Cheer designer paper. OH HOW I LOVE THIS PAPER!!! Every single piece is beautiful!

I added a Foil Snowflake and a Silver Foil Stitched circle to the designer paper (letting it hang over the right side). Next I used my trimmer to trim it even with the designer paper.  The trees are cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper using the Card Front Builder Dies. I added a piece of Silver Metallic Edged ribbon (tying it in a bow). I used the Pretty Pines dies to cut a Dazzling Diamonds bough and a Silver Foil branch. Last I tied some Linen Thread around the bow of the Metallic Edged ribbon and added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels! I just LOVE how it turned out!

I so enjoyed my World Card Making Class and plan on making it an ANNUAL EVENT! I had 25 ladies participate...either by joining me at my workshop or ordering kits! It was a ton of prep work, but I ENJOYED every minute of it!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you find just a bit of time to create! I can't wait to share what we are making in my class with you today...so be sure to come back tomorrow!

Have a FANTASTIC day!

Tuesday's Tip - Create BEAUTIFUL leaves

Hello Friends! Oh man...it's really smokey here again...the skies are grey! It's hard to know if it's smoke coming from other fires in California or if our fires are acting up again. Fortunately rain is in the forecast for Thursday, Friday and Saturday...hopefully it comes and things will settle down again. My son and my son-in-law are both working in the Napa area...both are power linemen...both have been relocated for a while...such devastation in that area. I will be glad when fire season is over this year!!

I've been out in my workshop getting ready for my class tomorrow but I wanted to share a video with you.  Jennifer Sootkoos a member of the Stampin' UP! Artisan Team shared this on Instagram.  Her blog is HERE! I thought it was such a BRILLIANT idea that I had to make a video and share it with you! Hope you like it!

Here are some close up photos of the process...sorry it was kind of hard to see the end results on the video!

Pretty FUN and COOL idea don't ya think! When I'm finished getting ready for my class...I'm going to have to create something with these leaves!

Hey...THANKS BUNCHES for stopping by today!  I'd love it if you liked my video on YouTube and shared it with your crafty friends! Have a FANTASTIC rest of your day!

Bethlehem - World Card Making Day Project 4

Good Morning and Happy Friday!  This has been quite a week...and I'm ready for a relaxing weekend! I'm tired! I've come to realize that worrying is EXHAUSTING....so I'm gonna just stop it!!! I have so much to be thankful for and I'm going to focus on being thankful...even for my trials!!

Today I have Project 4 from my World Card Making Event to share with you! I hope you find it inspiring and are able to do some creating over the next few days!

My card base is Basic Black with a 4 1/8" X 5 3/8" piece of Whisper White cardstock as my first layer. I used my Bethlehem Edgelits to cut the scene from a Silver Foil Sheet and adhered it to the Whisper White cardstock. To save on paper I only cut the buildings that would fit into the oval that I had already cut out of a piece of Merry Little Christmas designer paper. The star is cut with the same Bethlehem Edgelits and I added some Clear Faceted Gems to give balance to the card. Clean and simple design...and I love it!

I left the insides of my cards blank so that the gals who attended my World Card Making Class could choose which sentiment they used.  I had a stamping station set up with lots of Christmas sentiments...it was a fun way to do it...I think they liked having options!

That's it for today! I hope you find time to play...I'm heading out now!! THANKS BUNCHES for stopping by and letting me share my creations with you! Have a FANTASTIC day and WONDERFUL weekend!!

Card Front Builder Christmas Card - World Card Making Day Project 3

Good Morning everyone! Hope your day is off to a good start! It was a crisp 28 degrees here this morning! The kids are at school...and I have the house to myself! I'm not even dressed yet!! I better get busy...I wanted to get out to my workshop before things start happening...like volleyball games, husband home and youth group! I seem to thrive on chaos and busyness, but TODAY...I am enjoying the peaceful quite of an empty house.

Today's project is another card we made at my World Card Making Day Event last weekend.

I used the Card Front Builder Framelits to cut the trees from a 4" X 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock. I then embossed it using the Softly Falling embossing folder...leaving room at the bottom for a simple sentiment. I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment with the Star of Light stamp set, in Cherry Cobbler ink. The background of the trees is stamped with the Marble background stamp. I stamped it in Bermuda Bay ink onto a 2 1/2" X 2 1/2" piece of Whisper White cardstock that I adhered (where it would show through the cut trees) to a 4 1/8" X 5 3/8" piece of Real Red cardstock. Next I tied 1/8" Real Red ribbon around the embossed piece of Whisper White cardstock attached it to the Real Red cardstock with dimensionals. I added a solid tree cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper, using the same framelits, with mini dimensionals. Some of the gals in the class stamped the Marble background in Garden Green or Old Olive ink and it looked GREAT too...more traditional. I LOVED it, but forgot to take a picture. I chose the Bermuda Bay ink because I think it looks cold...like snow and the swirls in the marble give the feel of wind. I know...it sounds CRAZY, but that is how my mind works since becoming a SU demonstrator. I think differently now!

Well...that's it for today! It's not noon yet so I still have time to get dressed before morning is gone!  Thank you all...SO VERY MUCH for taking the time to check out my blog! I hope you are INSPIRED!!!

Have a FABULOUS day!

Peace This Christmas - World Card Making Day Project 2

Hey There everyone! I'm supposed to be headed to Sacramento shortly to catch a plane to a wonderful retreat in the Palomar mountains of San Diego County! I was so excited to go and hang out with friends! Sometimes life happens and plans change in a moment. Instead, today I'll hanging out with my hubby...hoping today will be the day he feels normal again. I am blessed to have a dear friend, who when I called to tell her what was happening, simply said..."you need to stay home with your husband"...no question about it, no making me feel guilty about not being able to go...she even took care of cancelling my flight to save for another trip. I love this gal so much...what a GREAT friend!!

So here I am...thankfully...sharing a card with you today...feeling peace, joy and love, knowing that I am not alone, having faith that this will pass and knowing that I will be given the strength to handle whatever comes our way!!

Today's card is one of the five cards we made at my World Card Making Day event.

The cardbase is Whisper White with a  4 1/8" X 5 3/8" piece Night of Navy layer on top. I used stitched oval framelits to cut an oval from a 4" X 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock. I saved the ovals (100 of them) for future projects! After cutting the oval out I embossed the same piece of cardstock with the Woodland embossing folder. Be sure to do the embossing after cutting the oval or the texture will be flattened...ask me how I know this!!!

I cut a piece of 2 3/4" X 3 3/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock to stamp the sentiment, which is from the Peace This Christmas stamp set, in Night of Navy ink.

I used the Leaf punch to cut leaves from Old Olive cardstock scraps and I used the Pretty Pines thinlits to cut the holly berries from Red Glimmer paper. I slipped both of these under a piece of Silver 1/8" ribbon that I had tied in a bow around the side of the Woodland textured cardstock.  I mounted this to the Night of Navy cardstock with dimensionals.

Another clean and simple card to send Christmas wishes! I LOVE it!

I'm so happy you stopped by today! You keep me creating!!! Have a wonderful day!!!

I have 25 people signed up to come or buy kits and I am so excited! We are making TWENTY Christmas cards...four of five different designs! That's 500...yes 500 kits I'm busy putting together! So ENOUGH CHIT CHAT...I have work to do!

I did want to share my last Tic Tac Toe Challenge Card real quickly! SPOILER ALERT...it's one of the cards we'll be making at tomorrows event!

The challenge was to use ANY Christmas products. I used Merry Little Christmas designer paper, the Season Like Christmas stamp set and Hearts and Stars wooden embellishments!

The colors I stamped with are Lemon Lime Twist, Old Olive and Early Espresso.

Don't you LOVE the way the Bakers Twine is added to the card?!?!

CUTE...FUN...CLEAN & SIMPLE...kind of TRENDY too!

Merry Little Christmas Designer Paper - Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Good Morning everyone!! WOW!! What a BEAUTIFUL morning! I've already gone to the gym this morning...tough bootcamp! I go faithfully but don't seem to lose much weight...I like food too much! I think I workout so I CAN eat...lol! Actually, I have a love hate relationship with the gym...I HATE getting up early so it's really difficult for me to be there by 5am!  I LOVE how I feel after a good work out...EXHAUSTED, but ENERGIZED...if that makes ANY SENSE at all!!

Well...back to the BEAUTIFUL morning! When I took kids to school this morning the sky was blue and the fall colors were vibrant. It makes me so happy when my kids notice the beauty around them and it was that kind of morning today...they both said how pretty it was! What a BLESSING!!

Well...I have to get out and finish getting my World Card Making kits together today so I better hurry up and share what I have for today!

This is another Tic Tac Toe Challenge project. The challenge was to use Christmas Themed designer paper! SUPER EASY! I absolutely LOVE the Merry Little Christmas designer paper pack so that is my background for this card. It is mounted onto Basic Black cardstock and then onto a Whisper White card base. I used my Stitched Shapes framelits to cut the stitched circle in Old Olive cardstock. The trees are from the Card Front Builder framelits. I used the Pretty Pines thinlit dies to cut the details from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and Silver Foil Sheets. The sentiment is from the Hearts Come Home stamp set...its a TERRIFIC Bundle! OF COURSE I had to add some Rhinestone BLING to finish it off!!!

I have one more Tic Tac Toe Challenge project to share with you tomorrow so be sure to stop back by! Thanks BUNCHES for checking in today and letting me share another creation with you!

Christmas Tags - Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Hello there! Hope you are well! I just spent the morning with a DELIGHTFUL friend who came to help me prepare kits for my World Card Making class scheduled for this Saturday! It was so fun to visit while I prepped! My Stampin' UP! classes have brought some AMAZING people into my life and I am so GRATEFUL!

Yesterday's video demonstrated how I made a tag for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge I participated in last month. Today I want to show you the other two tags I created! The challenge was to make THREE Christmas Tags!

This adorable tag is created with the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes framelits and the Hometown Greetings Edgelits dies. First I cut my circle in Glossy cardstock and used my Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo inks to color the sky! I simple dropped a couple drops of each color onto the Glossy cardstock, sprayed it with water (or rubbing alcohol to dry faster). I cut the edgelit from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper then cut it again with the same Stitched Shapes circle that I cut the background with...a perfect fit.  I added ribbon and rhinestone to finish it off! I LOVE it!!
To create this cute tag cut a  2" X 4 1/2" piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock and then the same sized piece of designer paper and adhere it to the Whisper White tag base. I used Merry Little Christmas designer paper. I used the Scalloped Tag Topper punch to cut the top of the tag and added some Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon along with vellum and Old Olive cutouts from the Perfect Pines framelits. For the body, I used the Stitched Shapes framelits to cut an oval frame in Basic Black as well as an oval from the Merry Music Specialty Paper. The tree is cut with the Card Front Builder framelits and Merry Little Christmas designer paper. Of course I had to add Rhinestone Basic Jewels! I LOVE this one too!

Here's a picture of all of the tags together! This was a FUN challenge for me!

I really enjoyed participating in this Tic Tac Toe Challenge!  I has really made me think out of the box! I have two more projects to share with you tomorrow and Friday...I hope you'll join me again to see more ideas that came from this challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a GREAT rest of your day!!

Tuesday's Tip - Watercolor Stamping with Season Like Christmas Stamp Set & Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Good Morning everyone!!! Wow...what a morning! It's been crazy windy! My husband got called out at 4am...a tree probably fell into the power line and took power out! I got up and went to the gym...bootcamp...super challenging! I also got to hang out with a 3 1/2 year old!  We played and played for an hour and a half! I even got to be BATMAN!!!

Remember the Tic Tac Toe challenge on my team facebook page? Well...one of the squares was to make three tags! Today's video demonstrates how I created one of them! I hope you are INSPIRED!!!

Here is the finished tag that I submitted for the challenge.

It is stamped on watercolor paper with the Season Like Christmas stamp set. I really LOVE this stamp set! I can use these trees all year round...I'm thinking MASCULINE birthday cards!

I also used the Pretty Pines thinlits to cut the details!

Here's the tag front that I demoed in the video. I like this one even better! Can't wait to put it together!

Just a reminder...the colors I used are Lemon Lime Twist, Garden Green, Old Olive, Bermuda Bay and Early Espresso.

Watercolor paper   - 2 1/2" X 4 1/2"
Crumb Cake paper - 2 5/8" X 4 5/8"
Basic Black paper   - 2 3/4" X 4 3/4"

Don't forget the Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon and the Linen Thread!!

Well...that's it for today!  Thanks BUNCHES for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed my video! If you did, please say so...and share it with your crafty friends and family! Have a FABULOUS day! I'm heading to a volleyball game in Mad River! It's a BEAUTIFUL two hour drive...with a delicious hamburger joint! I'll be back tomorrow with another tag!!!

Embossing Paste - Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Happy Friday everyone! I'm sitting alone in my home...it's quite...it's strange! I've decided that I think I like a bit of chaos! The kids will be home soon and the husband too...and life will be back to normal! Some days I really enjoy the quite and my time to myself...today, not so much. I wonder why...what makes it different....SOMETHING TO PONDER!!

Remember a while back I talked about the Tic Tac Toe Challenge my Up-upline was having on our team Facebook page? I have lots of projects from that to share with you...well nine total anyway!!

For today's card the challenge was to use Embossing Paste...so I did! My card base is Whisper White with at layer of Basic Black (4 1/8" X 5 3/8"). Next I used my brick wall mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks set and spread my embossing paste thinly onto a 4" X 5 1/4" piece of Pool Party cardstock. Once it was dry I adhered a stitched circle cut with the Stitched Shapes framelits from Merry Little Christmas designer paper. I cut two trees from vellum using the Card Front Builder thinlits...oh how I LOVE these trees! They are glued together at the top (hidden by the star) and at the bottom (hidden by the bows). I put two together because one was just too transparent.  The ADORABLE little stars in the top right corner are from the Patterned Pumpkins thinlits. They were left over from a pumpkin I cut out! They are just PERFECT up there in that corner!!! The star on the tree is cut with the Starlight Thinlits from Silver Foil sheets. The bows are made from Linen Thread and Silver 1/8" ribbon. I really LOVE how it turned out...not traditional at all...but I LOVE it!

I'll be sharing more of the Tic Tac Toe projects over the next couple of weeks and I have a World Card Making class on Saturday, October 7th so I'll be sharing those projects with you as well!  We'll be making 20 cards...four of five different designs! I'm SUPER EXCITED!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Join me again for more FUN ideas to INSPIRE your CREATIVITY!!!
